I noticed a number of police vehicles with tax disks on them. Is this
tax actually paid by the forces concerned, anyone?

I did a search and found a claim by one poster that tax discs are issued
because of other drivers complaints about the police "getting away with not
having to pay the tax", but that the tax paid is shown as "0".

It would be rather daft to pay taxes out of tax funds, since the processing
costs would result in a net loss.

Thanks a lot. Since when has being rather daft stopped any government
doing anything? They pay billions of taxpayers' money to subsidise
train companies to start with.
