Piggies and murder?

In light of the facts that the piggies clearly murdered the Brazilian guy
for no good reason, and passed a load of bollocks to the press concerning
this, do people feel that those responsible should be:

1) Given commendations and promoted?
2) Retire early be given large golden handshakes, and retain full pension
rights?
3) Take up highly paid jobs in the "security" services?
4) Face trial for murder or manslaughter in a court of law?

The policy of shooting would be suicide bombers is OK (and lawful).

There are two problem areas

1. Bad management that allowed poorly briefed trigger happy officers to be
the ones carrying guns when in plain clothes and allowed to use them.

I.e. they repeatedly shot a man, who clearly could not have been carrying a
substantial bomb, who apparently had done nothing unusual (apart from
hastening across a platform to join a train about to depart), with little or
no warning, when he was [allegedly] already in custody.

I see little option but a charge of manslaughter for the individuals who
pulled the trigger (orders or even duress are no excuse for killing in
English law). OTOH I would expect the courts to be very lenient if they
make a clean breast is made of it. There may be discipline for the officers
in charge of the operation.

2. Fanciful explanations afterwards.

Some of this might have been press speculation, but clearly some police
officers must have lied to their commanders. Whereas the shooting was a
mistake made under pressure and in the heat of the moment, the cover up is/
was done in the cold light of day. Will the commissioner have to resign?
He did try to stop the independent investigation. We will see...

Given the lack of clarity regarding what actually happened I am inclined to
hold judgement until we are fairly sure of the facts.

From today's press reports, it appears that it was bystanders who, in your
words, "passed a load of bollocks" to the police. The police are now
believed to have said that he behaved quite normally, did not jump the
barriers, collected a free newspaper and was not wearing bulky clothing.
